Blenheim Palace

Blenheim Palace is England’s grandest and most imposing stately home. It is the home to the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and the birthplace of our wartime leader, Sir Winston Churchill. Set in glorious parkland it was originally built (with a budget of £250,000) to reward the 1st Duke of Marlborough for his military victory over the French at the battle of Blenheim in 1704. This Baroque Palace contains a wonderful collection of paintings, furniture and tapestries and is surrounded by sweeping lawns, formal gardens, a miniature train and a magnificent lake – all landscaped by the famous ‘Capability Brown’.
