River bus

A fun and relatively cheap way to get around.   You’ll beat the traffic and enjoy fantastic views of London along the way.  The river bus is operated by ‘MBNA Thames Clippers’.  Oyster cards are accepted on all services.  Prices start from free for children under five up to £19 for an adult day ‘River Roamer’ ticket.  All London piers are accessible except for Cadogan Pier and London Bridge City Pier.   Most boats have refreshments too.

Five different routes are served; with destinations between Putney and Royal Woolwich Arsenal.  The most popular stops along the River Thames are:

  • Millbank Pier – to visit Tate Britain
  • Westminster Pier – to visit the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey
  • London Eye Pier – to visit the SEA LIFE London aquarium, The London Dungeon, and the Coca-Cola London Eye
